Turbo Timers To keep your turbocharger from overheating after a long journey
or following an enthusiastic drive, a turbo timer is recommended so that the
engine will run on for a few minutes. This will allow oil and coolant (on
watercooled turbos) to be supplied to the turbo on its cooling down phase
- to abruptly cut the engine while the turbo is hot can be disastrous!
Blitz
Turbo Timers are regarded as the most reliable and affordable electronic turbo
monitors. Autopassion keeps the Blitz FATT DCII and DTT DCII turbo timers.
The FATT is a fully automatic turbo timer with temperature gauge, voltmeter
and lap time functions. The FATT will monitor temperature and cool the turbo
before it allows the engine to switch off. The DTT turbo timer takes it one
step further, giving you a boost reading, boost warning and peak boost display.
